When to Visit
The best time to visit Albania is during the shoulder seasons of May-June or September-October. You’ll enjoy pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and lower prices during these months.

From Corfu, it’s just a short ferry ride across the Ionian Sea to Saranda, saving you hours compared to the long drive from Tirana. Use platforms like Expedia or Skyscanner to find the best flight deals.
My favorite site to look for cheap flights is Google Flights. Once you find a good flight, it’s best to book directly through the airline’s website. If you book through a third party and run into issues, the airline may not be able to help and will likely refer you back to the third-party provider.
Pro tip: Ferries from Corfu to Saranda run more frequently in the summer, so be sure to check seasonal schedules and book in advance during peak months. You can use Ionian Seaways or Finikas. Better to buy in advance as they don’t have the ticket booths at the ferry port; it’s a 15-minute walk from the port, so buying in advance is suggested.
Accommodation
From boutique stays in Berat to beachfront hotels in Ksamil, Albania has everything you need in a dream travel destination, with a wide range of accommodation options to fit every budget.
During high season (July and August), prices rise significantly, particularly if staying in the city center or along the coast.
If you’re traveling during this time, it’s best to book early to lock in better rates. On the other hand, visiting during the shoulder or off-season (May, June, September, or October) can help you find great deals, with many hotels offering lower nightly rates.
For added flexibility, consider staying in an Airbnb. While prices are often comparable to hotels, you’ll usually get more space and the option to cook your meals. Also, the chance to split the cost if traveling with friends or family.
If you’re hoping to save a bit more, consider skipping the sea view. Rooms with a view can come with a premium, and you’ll likely be out exploring most of the day anyway. Use platforms like Booking.com or Airbnb to compare options and find the right fit for your trip.
