about me

Time Waits For No One!

I’m Rita… Nice to meet you!

In 2018, I quit my job, sold everything I owned, and left to travel the world for one year. Now 6 years later, I’m still going strong. At the time I was stuck in a toxic relationship, trapped in a dead-end job, and feeling lost. I knew if I didn’t make a change, I’d be stuck in that cycle forever.

So, I took a leap of faith. I spent a year planning, saving, and preparing for this new adventure. When the time came, I handed in my resignation, booked my one-way ticket, and left a month later. That decision changed everything.

What started as a one-year journey turned into a lifestyle. During that first year, I landed a job teaching online, which allowed me to continue exploring for another two years. Eventually, I transitioned into managing social media and Pinterest accounts, which is what I do now.

Solo travel isn’t just about exploring new places—it’s about self-discovery and building confidence. I aim to inspire women to step out of their comfort zones and explore the world independently.

My passion lies in showing how these adventures lead to personal growth, cultural connections, and a life full of excitement.

Welcome to my adventure!

Travel has been my sanctuary, a way to reclaim my life during some of its most challenging moments.

My journey into solo travel began when I realized that life was too precious to waste on a dead-end job and an unhealthy relationship.

Taking that first solo trip at 38 was a mix of fear and exhilaration—an experience that changed everything for me.

Now, through Rita in Wanderland, I’m here to help other women, especially those over 40, find the same confidence and freedom that traveling alone has brought me.

I share my personal stories, struggles, and triumphs to remind you that if I can do it, so can you.
