Basic Brown Sugar Recipe

Course Baking, Dessert

Ingredients

  • 1 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon molasses

Instructions

  • Instructions:
  • In a bowl, combine the white sugar and molasses.
  • Use a fork or a pastry cutter to mix the molasses into the sugar until it’s evenly distributed and the sugar takes on a brown color.
  • Continue mixing until the texture is uniform and resembles brown sugar.

Notes

Note: Adjust the amount of molasses to your taste or to achieve the desired color. For darker brown sugar, you can use more molasses. For lighter brown sugar, use less. If you need a larger quantity, just maintain the 1 tablespoon of molasses per 1 cup of sugar ratio.
